8 DECEMBER 1998 MARKED the centenary year of Dr Gangadhar Adhikari's birth. On the occasion of his birth centenary the Communist Party of India (CPI) decided to publish a brief introduction to his life, selections form his writings, tributes to Dr Adhikari by prominent personalities, and reminiscences of contemporary revolutionaries. This is the second part of the commemoration volume. Some of Dr Adhikari's most important writing are reproduced in the part. We have tried to bring together in this part all the major articles, reports and pamphlets penned by Dr Adhikari during the crucial period 1942-1948. Dr. Adhikari was a member of the Polit Bureau of the CPI throughout this period and was a key figure in formulating communist strategy in the final phase of India's struggle for freedom.
