This story of the Komagata Maru is based on the primary source material which I collected from the City Archives, Vancouver, British Columbia.
Stevens was an elected member of the Canadian Parliament and was dead opposed to the entry of Hindus into British Columbia. He was looking after immigration affairs on behalf of the Canadian Government.Steven's whole file dealing with the Komagata Maru is now in the City Archives, Vancouver, Which deals with the day to day happenings on the ship. The director of the Archives was kind enough to let me xerox the material.
