I came to know about RSS for the first time in 1944. At that time I went to town Jamni to spend my holidays. Jamni is a town in Mungher district of Bihar. My friend Sarat Kumar Mukhopadhyaya was a high official there. My friend Sarat told me at first, an outfit named RSS was working their. So RSS is not something new. Four years later I came to Berhampur as a district magistrate . There also I found RSS and their method of activities. They seemed at a time to live in the bygone regime of past Maharashtra.
