The present work is a thesis on 'Bihar Tenantry' approved for the award of the degree of Ph.D. in the University of discussion on, and interpretation of, the positon of Bihar tenants and the relations of the zemindars and tenants inter se during the period form 1783 to 1833, in an historical retrospect from the days of Aurangzeb, the last great Mughal Emperor of Delhi. So far as I an aware, no such detailed study on Indian peasantry has been attempted by an other scholar.
