In the ensuing pages we present to the reader in multilingual version the juridico-political speech given by Fidel Castro Ruz in the court that was trying him and his companions of war for the military assault on the barracks of tyranny in Santiago de Cuba, the Moncada Barracks. At the First Congress of the Communist Party Fidel Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee, began his main report with the remarks that "In big political processes there occur events that can be called historic." It is this category in which we can most certainly put the meaningful discourse given on the 16th of October 1953 in a small corner of the Municipal Hospital of Santiago de Cuba where, far from the judgement against a leader, what one witnessed was the shameful defeat of a disgraceful regime and the submission to the yankee imperialism.
